Terms & Conditions

It is understood that Scott’s Grand is established and furnished and consequently, it is necessary that any parties using it shall exercise the utmost care as to the treatment of the furnishings and artifacts located therein. Many of these furnishings would be difficult, if not impossible, to replace if they were damaged, destroyed, or stolen. Therefore, any parties executing this agreement shall assume full liability for damage or loss sustained by Scott’s Grand or its furnishings as a result of their use of the premises.

Availability Scott’s Grand is located at 5060 Dorchester Rd, Suite 320, North Charleston, SC 29418.  Venue rental is available daily upon availability.


The setting for your event will be approximately 4000 square feet of entertaining space.

Securing your Event

To reserve Scott’s Grand for your event, half of the rental fee must be paid as a non-refundable reservation fee, upon application.

Fees & Payments

Payments are non-refundable.

The balance of the rental fee and all other charges will be due 60 days before the date of rental. An additional $25 per day for payments that arrive after the due date, if the office will still approve rental.

Scott’s Grand accepts payments via check or credit card.  All checks are to be made payable to Scott’s Grand or R. Scott, if is not a local check. Processing fees may apply. See representative for updated rates.

Special Restrictions

Pets are not allowed on the premises.

No smoking is allowed inside Scott’s Grand.  However, smoking is permitted outside.

Votives, floating candles or candles enclosed in chimneys are allowed on guest tables and cake tables only.  Fires are not allowed in the elsewhere.  A unity candle or candelabra, this is allowed.  All such candles should be extinguished immediately after the event.

The use of any type of confetti, glitter, rice, fireworks, bird seed or similar items is prohibited both inside and outside. Bubbles are acceptable outside.

All decorations must be reviewed and approved by Scott’s Grand Event Coordinator at least 7 days prior to the event.  Absolutely nothing hung, nailed, stapled, taped, or otherwise attached to the walls, floors, windows, or fixtures.

All decorations and personal property must be removed by the Host Group after the event.


Please make sure that all guests served alcohol are of legal drinking age. Scott’s Grand will not be held responsible for under-age drinking or for any accidents due to overconsumption of alcohol.

Any guest may be asked to vacate and be escorted from the premises if his/her actions due to alcohol consumption are in question.

The Host Group accepts all responsibility for his/her actions and all actions of guest in regard to alcohol consumption.

All state and local liquor laws must be followed.

All champagne must be uncorked by caters.

Security personnel must be present at all events serving alcohol at an additional fee.

Outside Contractors

Outside contractors such as but not limited to; Event Planner, Musicians, DJs,  Audio Video providers, must provide copies of their business licenses, certificates of insurance, and proof of workman’s compensation insurance on file with Scott’s Grand  14 days before the event.  This is the contractor’s responsibility and MUST be in house 14 days prior to the event.

Musicians, DJs & Audio Visual

The placement of any musical group, DJ or Audio Visual in the venue must be discussed with and approved by Scott’s Grand Events Coordinator at least 14 days prior to the event date.


Client shall provide a Certificate of Insurance providing liability coverage with minimum $500,000.00 in coverage and must have Scott’s Grand  named as an additional insured not less than 14 days prior to the event.

Outside Contractors must also have copies of their business licenses, certificates of insurance, and proof of workman’s compensation on file with Scott’s Grand.

In the event of any damages occurring to any items or to the physical condition of any and all space within Scott’s Grand itself, the client will be held solely responsible and will be billed accordingly. This includes, but is not limited to scratches, nicks, breaks, or marks of any kind. The Host Group Representative shall be liable for the payment and performance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement required of the Host Group. Scott’s Grand Employees are responsible for the protection of the venue and its contents.  They are obligated to ensure the safety of the venue for the duration of the event.  Alteration to the venue is prohibited.  The client is financially responsible for any property damage to Scott’s Grand property that occurs during the rental.

Please review all city ordinances and state laws when planning your event.  Scott’s Grand will not be held liable for any penalties or conflicts with city, state or personal damages. Scott’s Grand reserves the right to ask anyone in question to vacate the premise.

Miscellaneous Policies

No loud music that can be heard in residential area behind the building

No live music performance or club like activity. No restricted entry based on drinking age No Live animals, except for service animals, may not be brought onto the premises. LIENT and his/her guests are restricted to the rental area. (Kitchen and behind bar counter with SCG approved.) SGC will not be responsible for items left behind, before, during or after an Event. SGC staff may enter any of the rented premises at any time on any occasion. SGC reserves the right to take photographs of rental Events for its own records and for use in future.

CLIENT must make sure that the number of guest does not over-exceed the stated amount. Damage to Building. In cases where property has been damaged or abused beyond normal wear, CLIENT will be billed for all damage and additional clean-up. Storage in Building. SGC does not provide storage. It is not available before or after a rental event. All decorations, props, rented furniture, beverage dispensers, and personal belongings must be removed at the end of the event.                                                                                 

Vendors/Performers/Contractors All vendors, contractors, performers, etc.. must complete a contract for approval of venue manager and abide by all city ordinance and state laws at all times. The client agrees to the penalty of $100,000 paid to the venue and due to  the venue within 30das of event date.                                                                                       

Fees and Charges Cancellation Policy CLIENT may provide a dated, written request for cancellation 60days or more prior to the event, but Facility is under no obligation to honor such request." Facility may deny a refund for any reason or no reason." In particular, no refunds will be made when the event is canceled by SGC due to the CLIENT’s noncompliance with state laws or terms and conditions. Facility at its own discretion may allow a portion of the payment(s) made less the initial reservation fee may be applied to another booking but is under no obligation to do so.                                                                                  Policy Alcohol Service: No Alcohol (defined as Beer, Wine or Liquor) shall be served unless: - Substantial food is also provided for guests; - Alcohol shall NOT be served to anyone under the age of 21. SGC shall abide by all laws of the State of South Carolina concerning the use and serving of alcohol. 

Indemnification User agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless SGC and its employees from and against any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or liabilities incurred by SGC or its employees, arising from CLIENT’s acts or omissions under this Agreement or any act or omission of CLIENT’s vendors, employees, contractors, or persons attending the meeting or event with the express or implied permission or invitation of CLIENT, except as may arise from the negligence or willful misconduct of SGC or its employees. SGC will not be held responsible for any losses, damages, or injuries. This refers to any loss, damage, or injury to persons or possessions that may occur at any function held on this property, from any cause, whatsoever, prior to, during, or subsequent to the period covered by this contract. CLIENT will be responsible for the control and supervision of the people in attendance during the use of the facility to ensure no harm is done to persons or property. CLIENT agrees to abide by this Agreement and acknowledges having received a copy thereof. CLIENT will be held financially responsible for any damage to the facility or equipment, which occurs through the CLIENT’s meeting or event at the facility.                            By wintmp • Posted in Terms and Conditions • Edit
